Crestridge Residence is a comprehensive whole-home transformation in Longmont, Colorado, thoughtfully reimagining an original, largely untouched custom home dating to 1961. The design preserves the spirit and character of the existing architecture while introducing a contemporary framework tailored to the needs of a modern growing family.
The renovation reorganizes the home’s interior architecture and circulation, including the relocation of the kitchen, pantry, dining room, mudroom, living spaces, powder room, and private office. At the center of the new kitchen, an expansive 12-foot-plus island establishes both a functional centerpiece and social hub for the home, providing generous workspace and seating while creating an ideal setting for entertaining and gathering with family and friends.
The primary suite was relocated and reconfigured, transforming a dated recreation room into a private retreat with separate his and her bathrooms and custom closets. Three new secondary bedrooms, each with an ensuite bath, provide increased privacy and flexibility for family and guests.
Additional programmatic improvements include a dedicated recreation room and art studio, creating spaces that support both shared family life and individual pursuits. New wood flooring establishes continuity throughout the home, while new windows, doors, and exterior finishes give the 1961 residence a renewed architectural expression. A contemporary gas fireplace anchors the primary living space, providing a refined focal point within the updated interior.
The completed residence balances the character of its original architecture with a contemporary approach to space, materiality, and detailing, creating a cohesive and highly personalized home designed for modern family living, connection, and entertaining.
